Interesting read.  This is what I tried to post earlier and got the 'forbidden' message.

At the last get-together I remember a couple boats bringing boat loads of firewood over for what I guess was to be a BIG bonfire on the south shore later.
Did see the cops there, checking people out.  Captflatback warned us not to be flashing beer cans or bottles or they'd check us out too. No one messed with us.  He also warned us about free running dogs.
I can't imagine them stopping people from camping on their boats though - that makes no sense unless of course, people are using the island for their bathroom.
I guess I'll have a first-hand report for us about what happens there at night, after this get-together.

It's just like anywhere else.  So many jackasses out there now, leaving their trash, loud drunks, uncontrolled dogs and kids (and some adults).  People start out going to these places because they can get away from the crowds.  Over time, others catch on and it gets popular, then out come the riff-raff.

I have hung out on both ends of the island- both the calm side and the rowdy side... and it is not that bad.  It's all rather tame compared to the party spots on the east coast.  Try heading down to "peanut island" in palm beach sometime... that place is REALLY out of control.

I never thought it was that bad, except maybe holidays.

I've been to Peanut Island
