I wish I could have been there longer... I went to Billy's to meet up.  Saw JimCt there, RickK, Tim, Mike... it was a very cool time.  Next year I hope to have my rig out there.  Still waiting to meet the infamous John Jones!  :)

Once again, KUDOS to Jim coming in from friggin Conneticut!  Next time we need to get you in town longer though.

And last, all the boats were nice, but I have to say I am partial... Tim's boat is SWEET!  Very nice... gave me an extra boost to get back at mine.

Sorry I missed you man.  We will just have to hook up on our own.  I would have spent the entire day but a last minute visit by family from out of state screwed that.  I don't get to see my nephew often so what do you do?

We left and went to the range marker by Ft Desoto gulf side pier and two throws of the net blacked out the baitwell.  Cruised back across the bay looking for macks but did not see any.  Ended up back in Terra Ceia Bay on the grass flats.  I guess we caught 30 speckled trout but only 2 were keeper size and they went in the cooler.  One lost spanish mack (on the grass flats) went in the cooler.  Nephew had fun with a 3' bonnet head shark on 10# line.

It was nice meeting everyone.  Looking forward to the next one.

Hey, how about some pictures?

Work kept me here over the weekend    - otherwise I would have considered hauling Gone Fission down to Flawda and joining y'all!

Sorry I missed it!

222 badges for sale
« Reply #116 on: May 06, 2007, 05:44:54 PM »
Seems in all the excitement, JimCT left the 222 badges that he brought down for you guys in my boat, and didn't get a chance to give them to who he had intended.  My chance to refill my tank? Just kidding.  We'll work out getting them to the intended people. Sorry 'bout that.

Wonderful day - had 2 more boats than last year - (50% increase?)
From left to right in the above pic - Rickk (standing in my 230), Mike Answeeney (standing in Tim Bradford's boat), Dave (CaptDave.... and his boat is behind him with the aqua bimini) and JimCT.
I'm a little tucker'd out from camping all weekend and cleaning the 230 up most of today, so bear with me and I'll have my pix up soon.
Can't wait for the next get-together :!:  :!:

Maybe we can plan a mid-summer get together. Being that there are so many classic Aquasports in the Tampa Bay area we shouldn't have to wait a year. I'm sorry I missed out Sat. But  maybe a mid-summer ( late July/ Aug). Would like to see your boats and meet some new people. I know I'm not a big poster on this site, but I read alot of post and love that I own a older (93 Osprey) that I have done alot of work on over the last year.

Saturday was GREAT!

My wife (Marianne) and I turned out to be such bums!
We got a boat ride from the ramps to Shell Island from John Jones.
Then later a boat ride from Shell to Billy's from RickK.
Then a car ride from Billy's back to our car at the ramp from LilRichard.

JimCT made up and brought down some 22-2 badges for LilRichard and I. (Thank you very much for those Jim!!!!)
(RickK, we'll just have to meet up again to get those from ya)

One of the inspirations for my boat and a picture of it on my fridge, is the 1968 22-2 flatback with red a bimini top and dodger. Tim Bradford is the owner. When he pulled up to the beach I about fell over.  What a beautiful boat. I got some close up pics and great advice of what he really liked and what he wished was just a little different about his boat.  I spent a good amount of time picking through all the little features trying to get some ideas for my rebuild.
Thank you very much Tim. It was nice to meet and talk with you.

It turns out that LilRichard and I live within walking distance from each other in Tampa.  Who'd a thought!

Once again, special thanks to all who toted us around all day!

Here's some pics, enjoy .... we sure did!

Great time!  Sorry about forgetting those 22-2 badges I left in Rick's boat.  If anybody needs a set, drop me a line.

Special thanks to RickK for putting all this together and his wonderful hospitality for the overnight & food... spiced ribs on the grill, corn, beer, chicken from Dave's galley and all rounded off with two fingers of his "special reserve" rum.  Breakfast of a big plate of scrambled eggs & sausage (link or patty) and especially Dave's five star coffee made with three batteries, an inverter, vice grips, twin Merc. 200's and Rick's grill.  When he sets his mind to making coffee, you can rest assured nothing will stop him.

Will post pictures.
