You should start handing out cigars.

What type of shape is she in?

Are you rebuilding or leaving as is?

JimCT, is this a new boat of yours?  What is the story behind her?  I know I like it though, new additions to the family are always welcome.  The question mark on the side is there for good reason, we have questions.

Thanks for the congrats everyone.  Figurative hand-rolled Cuban cigars to all!

I'm ashamed to admit I haven't seen her face to face yet.  This of course violates my advice to anyone considering buying a boat unseen but I've had some good conversations on the phone with the owner (a fellow sailor) and believe her to be as advertised.  I jumped my own advice because this is the boat I've been looking for since falling for Old School's beautiful 22-2 inboard.  Config's a bit different from Old School's though.  O.S. as I recall had the engine box aft of the console whereas this one has the engine under the console; no separate engine box... frees up considerable real estate back where it's most valuable.

She's been in the same family for years in Fl and only recently came North (see Fl numbers on bow).  Some of the little tell-tale details I saw in the eBay pictures led me to understand she's been watched over for many years by an experienced eye and used as she was intended.  Plan is to drive down Saturday morning, with camera, to take a peek.  I can appreciate Ben's feeling of anticipation waiting to see his new Dusky.  (Memo to Ben: rum and tonic eases the butterflies some).

Review of the boat from the same year she was built:

It's the picture at the bottom of page 144 that hits the sweet spot for me...  Look Ma! No engine!!!

Because of the ongoing 240 project, it's doubtful I'll be able to use the 22-2 much this summer.  I have no problem with that though.  Just knowing she's there is enough.

I could tell from your comments in the Classified section that you would do this.  Congratulations, I think.

I'd like to play poker with you too    Read right through your comments and remembered how you fell all over yourself when admiring OS's 222.
Just don't know why you'd want 2 boats .....
You say this one is ready to go, huh?  Gonna have to make the tube garage bigger now.
Congrats buddy.

Thanks JJ & Rick!  Now I have to get a vehicle to tow it with.  The Cherokee was fine for the 170 but this would be too much for it.  Will have to pull in a couple of markers with a friend to use his truck for the tow home.

From expensive experience, I stay away from poker.

Great boat Jim!  Regarding the tow vehicle, a local company makes these - should do the job:

See ya on the water (in the "new" boat)!
