We bonded it with 10 tubes of 5200 adhesive. We used a hydraulic jack and a 2x4 between the floor and the ceiling for pressure. It is non skid. We mixed the Interlux non skid product into the 1STEP GELCOAT. The gel coat process had me confused but we figured it out.
The floor is the same height. There is limited freeboard to begin with.
I really do not have time to repaint anybodys boat. We recently started a new side business. We manufacture mahogony rod holders. It has taken off real well. We received our first special order the other day.
We installed a bilge below, in the stringer compartment, just in case.
This was a two year project that came together in 2 months.
Next step is center console, wiring, rigging/powering and woodwork and off to the fishing grounds!!
    We appreciate everyone's help!!!!

1970 17'
WE mounted most of the hardware this weekend and are redoing the center comsole. We are reglazing it with a new space age product. It should come out lookin brand spanking new.  I will post some pictures as we go.
As far as the rod holders. We are keeping it local. The pictures we posted are pretty much it.
We are shopping for a fuel tank right now. We figure a 18 gal. will be sufficient. Had one on ebay (real cheap) but  the dimensions did not fit.
Plastic or aluminum?  Any comments?  Also, we are looking for a bow rail.
Any help would be appreciated. thanks RG

JIm you can probally answer this...WE are going with a Moeller Permanent tank 18 to 22 gallons. Do I need an "ANGLED FILL & VENT " model or can I get away with the Standard series? It will be mounted in the original spot, under the center console.
The original fill was located on the top of the center console. We wanted to relocate to the starboard side  of the console.
The original fill scared me. It was located next to the steering wheel. Any fuel over flow or drips by the ignition and gauges could have made for a BAD day on the water. Any suggestions?
    Thanks RG

Tried finding a picture of the tank to see what it looks like, but no luck.  If I was going to install that tank, I'd make a mock-up to see how everything fits and how the routing of the filler hose is going to work out.  As for the top fill set-up you have now, as long as you're careful filling up, there should be no problems.

Not much of a response from fellow members. The fuel fill if replaced in its original 1970 position creates a fire hazard. One of the early mistakes for this design. Just the residue near the cap on the center console creates a flammable hazard. ( i'm a fireman been there and witnessed it)
We are going with the straight tank. There should be enough room to bend the fuel line as well as the vent hose out the side of the console. This way if there is any overflow, residue, fumes etc. they will not be in an area that will be vulnerable to ignition. Easier to hose down as well.
We are going to try and get most of her back together this weekend! Happy Easter to all !!!

My concern is if you have to put too severe a bend in the filler hose it may restrict the fill rate.  Fire rated hose doesn't like tight bends.  You may wind-up having to plumb in a 45 deg.  fitting in the hose.

We are getting ready to mount the windshield. The windshield is original, 1970. WE wanted to replace the mounting hardware. Can anyone help? Where can we purchase the hardware? Rubber washers, spacers etc. We tried all the local shops in our area. We even tried home depot. Thanks RG
