New to this board
« on: February 03, 2007, 08:07:52 PM »
Just wanted to say hi. I've been a visiter here for awhile (A friend told about this site) but just set up a computer here at the house. So I signed on. I bought a 1981 Aquasport 222ccp a few years back. I plan on refinishing her this year. I'm sure some of you guys in florida may know the boat if you saw her. But that will only be till this summer as I said. Planning on doing her in either dark blue of dark green. Haven't made up my mine yet. After seeing some of the work some of you guys do. Not sure I want to post any of my pictures once I get done though. You guys really are fine craftsman. When my friend told me their was a classic Aquasport site now on the web. I really couldn't wait to get in here. These are boats well worth any work some one many put into them. I'm retired now and have been for 2 1/2 years. When I was working, I would get into all the other sites and all ways wondered why no site for one of the best boat ever built. I know this wouldn't go over big with the seacraft guy (that is a fine boat) but i would stack the ride of my 222ccp up aganist a 23 seacraft any time. I've fished out of a few 23's and they are veary good boats, but I like my Aquasport. I hope to talk to some of you soon.

Welcome to the site and we look forward to seeing your pictures and progress!  You obviously have the Aquasport "bug" and your contribution will be welcome.

See ya on the water!

Welcome Aboard, Saltfly!

Please don't be shy about posting pictures.  Yes, there are some real craftsmen in the group but there are also a bunch of us who are amateurs learning as we go.  Passing around pictures is a good way to get new ideas into the mix.

Welcome aboard SF.
This forum is for the proud owners of Aquasports, which aren't made anymore, I'm sure you've heard - so they'll all be classic sooner or later. The thought of being rejected because the Aquasport someone bought is "new" scares them away from here, I'm sure - for no reason. We can learn from the "new" boats as well as we can from the old (BTW, a lot of the old are being made to look "new").
We've got the good, the bad and the ugly here and you know what? We're proud of all of them!! So don't hesitate to post your pix so we can enjoy.

Again, welcome aboard.

Welcome saltfly  I just recently purcahased a 1981 200 CCP.  Most likely the same boat as yours but 2 feet shorter.  I would love to see some pictures of what you have.  Mine needs quite a bit of work as well but seems to be a solid boat.  I am no craftsman myself, but every little thing I do to mine I plan to post some pictures.   I think everyone loves pictures of the old classics on this site and so do I :) Welcome and post some pictures when you can.
