1708 fiberglass

does anyone have experience with laying gelcoat over 1708?  does the weave "print thru" even after a few coats or no?

I always made sure to lam a 1.5oz CSM on the outside where it'll give something to add fairing material, like resin or gelcoat thickened with cabosil or wood flour.
