!996 225 Explorer Deck Material and Thickness
« on: October 10, 2024, 09:20:28 PM »
Looking for some information on the thickness and type of sub floor in the the area behind the helm area.  Looking to install a Swing Back Cooler seat in the area of the access hatch over the the sending unit between the fish box and helm area.  Will make it removable for access with some type of bracketing.  If its plywood and thick enough I would use lag screws.  If not, and I would use bolts and lock nuts if I can access the area.  Last resort would be Stainless Molly Bolts.  Haven't and won't be near my boat to see what is there for a while and trying to know what I'm up against.  Appreciate any info or input!

I moved your topic to the Explorers Rebuild forum. In that forum there is a topic about exactly what you're asking - https://classicaquasport.com/smf/index.php?topic=16118.0
