2001 +- Fuel Pick Up Question
«

I was wondering what Aquasport did at the end of the fuel pickup? Was is just open or is there some sort of screen or sock on there?
Might be a Moeller question now that I think of it.

Well, I haven't heard anything back from Moeller yet.

The poly tanks I have from Moeller just had a plastic pipe going down to just short of the tank bottom, no filter/sock in the tank.
Some have a one way check valve at the fitting outside the tank, looks like a threaded hose nipple, those can get crusty and stick at times.

Yeah, I'm 99.99% certain my issue that is the anti-siphon vale. I'm going to remove it and install a brass barbed fitting and all new fuel line. I really don't like the idea of playing around with crusty stuff on the poly tanks if I don't have to.

Might want to get an aluminum barbed fitting, Moeller sells them on their website. Pretty sure it screws into another aluminum fitting attached to the tank.

Still looking to find out if these tanks came with a screen or sock. I can't get Moeller to respond at all.

The pickup in mine had a screen on the end and it was a tad long so it touched the bottom and bent slightly. I replaced it and made it a tad shorter and put a 45 on it without the screen.

I ended up buying a new pickup tube but haven't done the work because of the weather. The new tube is 2' I want to say and has a screen molded into it. I plan on cutting it to fit the tank at a 45.
I hope this works cause I'm at at my wits end with trying to figure out the fuel issue.
