‘97 175 console replacement or fix
« on: June 02, 2024, 04:50:59 PM »
Does anyone know of a good website to replace the console w/ live well for my 175? I took off the panels and found the wood is rotting around the edges. Had anyone replaced just the wood itself?
Would I separate the rotted wood from the inside then glass it? Lots of questions.

Are you wanting to replace the console with a livewell? I'm confused on what you want.
I think your boat has a combo console/livewell under the seat on the front of console. Is it lined with wood? I don't know. If it is, you can separate the wood from the console fiberglass, grind the area and then decide what you are going to recore with.

I’m guessing that you’re looking for a console with a live well molded into the front similar to the og 175 console. Here’s one that may work: https://cmmarine.com/products/c-m-center-console-25-x-26-x-31?variant=37738220880069&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw65-zBhBkEiwAjrqRMFszlhos5Ajdnv2gZVIYH5fHQFdJsGDLz6A4REpK7ECGXQauhSD4-hoCnh8QAvD_BwE

Only thing is, you’d have to add a livewell yourself. I don’t know of an after market one piece console with live well molded in. Someone who is good with glass could add the live well pretty easy, but someone good with glass could likely repair your current console for less.

As Rick mentioned doing the work yourself is an option, and there’s a lot of support on this board.
