Datacenter problems for the past couple days
« on: May 28, 2024, 07:44:01 PM »
Hi All,
Sunday the site went down and I was told the datacenter in Dallas was hit with some severe weather and lightning. Anyway, it torched a few servers which had to be replaced, all the hard drives were also torched which also had to be replaced and rebuilt software wise. A backup which was only a few hours old was restored, so we didn't lose any data but there is an issue with the photo gallery. We will work this out over the next few days. The gallery software is old and the company dropped support for it several years ago. When we upgraded from PhpBB to SMF forum software we searched far and wide for a way to export /import the gallery into something much newer without success.  The photos are stored in the gallery but the links and how the gallery software works with a forum is what we can't export, it's some kind of homegrown DB.
Anyway, hang in there with us, keep your photos handy and we'll be back to normal soon.
