I have finally gotten my boat repainted and now need to hang the motors. After a year and a half I can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.  I have had my boat back for a week and it has rained every day, bummer.  I did have a change to wetsand it in the cold rain with 1000 and 1500 grit sand paper.  Now I just need to do the final polish on the fresh gelcoat.  I made a new fuel tank box cover before sending it out and coated it with resin, when I got it back I went ahead and layed it up with some thick matte glass and it is rock solid now.  When the rain stops I am going to put it back in and lay down the duraback on the deck and on part of the side rails as well as across the new also freshly painted twin bracket.  

I have been thinking of putting in closed cell foam under the anchor box up in front of the fuel tank, any thoughts on this?  I took out the foward cofin box and dont plan to put it back in so I am going to be light up front.  I also have a new console that is  being dropped off to me tomorrow I think.  I am pumped and ready to get the motors on the way here, I was going to get the 140 zukes but am now getting the 150 zukes.

All in all I paid $3200 for the new gelcoat and console.  that includes sanding/stripping off the AF paint and prepping the hull.  Gelcoating the entire outside of the hull and inside walls down to the deck as well as the transom bracket.  Will be a couple of weeks before I get it all done as we expect rain until next thursday and I will be fishing in Venice next weekend.   Will get pictures up when time permits, maybe the last weekend of jan.

D&D marine.  I tell you guys what, this guy is a real class act.  Somehow in the equation my bracket was measured incorrectly and he built me one for 25" motors.  I need one for 20" motors.  I just realized this today, about 1 year after the purchase.  when I called him to explain the situation he said that on his next sell, he will sell mine.  I am going to reorder the one that I need and he said that most likely this one will be gone by the end of the week.  He definately didnt have to do that but he is going out of his way to make a customer happy.  Cudos to Don

D & D understands the word-of-mouth power of forums like this.  The more word gets out about his service & support, the more buyers will be turning to him.  Same sort of thing with Bennett from what I hear.  And I'm not even in the market for tabs.

i notice your sig line of hopeing to launch this year.  Im right there with you man.  

I just bit the bullet and ordered one of those $500 freaking aluminum hatch covers for my anchor locker.  All the other ones are gonna bee starboard type material........

here it is after the 1000 grit sanding, have not had time or weather to get down to 1500 grit yet.  hopefully next week.

argo, looks like a huge job u've done well. Bracket fiasco i'm sure warthog could chime in on, but the investment needs to be right the 1st time. Plenty of people at classic mako went bracket w/ less than stellar results, but most complaints were 23' and under. As ringleader over there said seems to be non issue w/ 25' ers and above so don't let what i 1st said bother u. I love the fact u went w/ the bigger motors, seems to be only slightly higher but too many boats r being underpowered, would hate to work so hard then use the boat to feel eehhh. Besides that an underpowered boat works alot harder, therefore blows up faster. Back to the bracket issue a few guys at Cmako had to tinker w/ different brackets, exact mounting locations, some brackets w/ flotation to optimize boat at rest, drift, plane etc. Besides warthog, there's "rudeattitude" and a few others that have done similar jobs. Good luck and take more pics
