This method works but the bubbles in the gutter are difficult to avoid. I end up grinding most of them out and filling them with thickened resin. I will put another layer or 2 of 1708 from the bottom for additional gutter strength

I am selecting wire to run from console to bow for a trolling motor, roughly 10 feet (70 or 80 lbs minn kota) and for starter wires for my outboard, also about 10 feet plus with turns and what not, which is a 115 yamaha 4 stroke. I researched that minn Kota recommends 8 gauge for the trolling motor application. I suspect 6 gauge is what the  yammy needs. Can I use 6 gauge for both?  Bigger wire is okay and smaller wire is not?  I was going to purchase kambluth marine tinned duplex wire.

I wired plenty of boats and made it work but always fresh water boats with easy wire run access. I want to rig this boat right because it is not easy access and is going to be a salt water boat. HELP and thanks for any input.

I used 2AWG for the trolling motor. Batts are in the console. Then I'll use the trolling motor leads from the terminals I installed. I used 2/0 for the starting battery cable.

Bilge hatch is next. Below process was as follows:
1. Put layer of Matt and thickened resin around bilge deck cut out
2. Insert gutter assembly into deck cut out
3. Wait for glass to cure then grind
4. Reglass areas of poor contact
5. Flip over and glass gutter assembly from bottom for additional strength

Had a 25th wedding anniversary. Was out of town for 10 days or so. Appreciate the concerm. Yeah, the Mrs deserved a trip for putting up with me for so long. Told her she gets 25 to life more.

At any rate I made the hatch 1 inch too long. So stupid. Going to try hinging it in the middle or making a two part hatch or cutting in half and lamming back together. Again, soooooo stupid.  Any advice other than measure twice cut once?

Cut the hatch in half. It fits now. I suppose I will glass it back together. Will probably not do the piano hinge in the middle.  Included some other pics of front hatch.

Lammed the bottom of the hatch with extra piece of divinycell. Will put a sheet of matte on other side .
