Mercury Early V6 Side Mount Control Box W/ 12 Pin
« on: April 24, 2024, 08:21:18 AM »
I have a 79’ 19-6 FF with what seems to be an original 2 litre merc on the back. Runs great! But can anyone explain what the two push buttons on the throttle controls are used for? And how difficult would it be to update and make modern?

Try contacting Merc tech support - I had an old merc 900 and they were able to answer my questions. Please come back and let us know what you find out, especially if they send you an operator manual.

Didnt realize the manual had that info.. so i opened it up. Looks like one button is the choke which i figured, but the other is called a “trailer” button. Not sure what that one does.
