Cockpit Lights - Repair, Replace or Convert
« on: July 24, 2023, 11:59:42 AM »
I have these lights scattered around the hull that I want to do something with.  Since the switch that operates them says Cockpit Lights then that's what I'm going to call them.  Some of the lights work and some of the lights are probably burnt out but I know at least one has issues with corrosion in the light socket.  I can't find any numbers on the bulbs to get just replacements or even try LED type replacements.  Has anyone found an LED replacement light assembly or just a pig tail that will snap in?  I did a search and found a related topic but it's kind of old and none of the suggested links work.  Anyone have some ideas for me?

Looks like a typical '194' wedge base bulb, the site below has just about every LED you could ever want.

My 91 had something similar to what you have. I put a string of LEDs under each gunnel and wired them to the existing light harness. They do an excellent job of lighting the deck and eliminating the glare.

Got them at the Superbright link db posted. More work than replacing the bulbs but a nice rate of return for the effort.

Just a thought.

Good luck. :thumright:
