Ordered new windshield and seatback cushion.
« on: January 04, 2007, 11:12:39 AM »
On the advice from some of you here at CA, I ordered a new windshield from UPD plastics.  The specs from the windshields they already had in stock were just off by inches in one way, shape or form so I sent in my shield that I heartbreakingly had to cut/snap in half but the nice man at UPD called to tell me that they had one in stock that was the same size, so for $150 or so, a new one is on the way to replace the shield I had on that was missing both upper corners, hooray!

I also brought my old seatback pad from the convertible cooler seat to have a new one made up, that will be $125 but no matter, the boat will be so nice with just both those things replaced, that is for sure.  The only thing I'm bummed out about is my livewell/forward console seat cushion that flew off on the highway because dummy-me forgot to take it off before heading on the road.  Perhaps I can cut out a template out of cardboard and the shop can make me up a new one for another $100-200 if it is worth it to me, or maybe I can just buy one made for a cooler of the same basic shape/size and make it work.

Ben, that sounds great.  In regards to the cushion.  I bought a cooler cushoin for mine and it fits good.  Also, Boaters World has cushions with different things embroidered on them that are nice and not real expensive.

I just cracked my windshield a couple of weeks ago.  Could you let me know how to get into contact with that windshield company you mentioned?  It would be greatly appreciated.

I got the info. for the windshield company on this site but it is called UPD plastics and I think it is www. updplastics.com, they are online and have a phone number as well.  After looking at all the windshields in stock,  I had seen that one or two dimensions were just a bit off so I sent my shield in and got a call saying that they had one that was exact and they would send it so I expect it this week.  I'm sure it will make a huge difference in the way the boat looks so I'm excited.  $157 shipped.

I'll look into cooler pads/cushions as the cooler seat/livewell in the console is not all that large and so long as it is roughly the same size, I'm sure I can make it work.

I have a cooler w/cushion in front of my console for seat/dry storage.  I bought another matching cushion and attached it to the front of the console for use as a backrest for the cooler seat.  Looks like it was made for it.
