1980 200 XF Project
« on: July 21, 2022, 04:14:41 PM »
My father and I are starting our first Aquasport project and it has us both excited to see where the adventure takes us.  I have some before pics that I will add to see the starting spot and update as we go along.

Our first step is to replace the spongy fuel tank hatch and while we are down there replace the fuel hoses to the fuel tank.  The previous owners went with an external tank for a reason, so we will investigate that area as we make the first repairs.

We have some glass work to be done on the boat as you can see in the pics.

There is also some sort of transom splash or stern guard that is missing.  Any help identifying what that would be would be helpful as we look to find a replacement or fabricate something new.

I'm going out on a limb here and state that your fuel tank is toast and will need replacement. The coffin is waterlogged and the cover is delaminated. You will not be the first to have this as a big part of your rebuild.

Probably right.  What do you recommend replacing tank/coffin with?
