76 Aquasport 170 bow/anchor door
« on: June 14, 2021, 11:36:26 AM »
I've been looking threw older post on the forums to try and find a bow/anchor door for my 170.

Was there ever a cover on the bow from the factory?

Have any of you guys custom made doors for it and have pictures?

Sorry if the post in not in the right forum.
Thanks,
Josh

Awesome, looks good!

How in the hell did you get the speakers installed up there?
Such a tight spot.

Guess i need to just make one like yours and also need to do the center console door/latch.
Cant seem to find anything that fits her.

The teak is a super nice solution.  Another option that requires less effort is pictured below.  I do recall having to widen the hatch access using a drimmel to squeeze in the hatch cover.

I pulled a bundle of wires up into the corner of the bow locker  while I was running the new fuel lines. Pretty easy shot from the fuel coffin. That’s about as far back as you can go before it gets too tight.

I'm not sure plywood is a good choice for exposed marine environment. I used Brazilian Mahogany and it has held up for about 15  years. If it gets funky, a quick scruff with 120 grit and re-oil with tong oil.

Yes sir, it's just temporary until i get some teak or mahogany. (Maybe cedar?) Tired of looking at the hole, so hopefully this will last until winter time when the boat gets its new makeover. Even thought we don't seem to ever have much of a winter!
