Hull Composition/Thickness

Hey folks, This may be covered in another topic but I couldn't find it. I have a 1986 250 Express Fisherman that I am slowly refurbishing. I want to mount a thru-hull transducer but I need to know if its a cored hull or what the approximate thickness is so I can be prepared before I go drilling 2" holes below the waterline lol. Any Help would be great Thanks!!

Welcome aboard Kevin! The hull is not cored. Thinking you'll be mounting the 'ducer toward the aft, where it is thicker, I would expect 1/2-3/4" thickness (maybe thicker close to transom). Let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the quick welcome and reply! I'm planning on doing the job in the next week or so. I will definitely let you know what I find. There is a unused raw water intake near the stern that I might look into using. I've been looking for an excuse to get rid of that shaky looking intake for awhile lol. I'm slowly rebuilding the boat but I'm only working on it outside of fishing season lol!

If you want raw water washdown, you'll need it.

The previous owner installed a newer raw water washdown intake. This one I'm guessing is original to the boat.
