'02 Osprey 205 Trolling Motor
« on: January 27, 2021, 08:28:16 PM »
Hay guys!

Has anyone mounted a trolling motor to the bow of their Osprey 205? I figure I'll have to modify my bow rail and remove the anchor clutch up front, but would love pictures or ideas if it's been done already.

My biggest concern is shaft length for the trolling motor! Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Hope this helps, on a 175 not a 205. You can see I simply removed a section of the bow rail, installed bullet caps, and removed a cleat to mount the Minn Kota.  Hard to see in the pic but I have a Minn Kota stabilizer on the gunnels as well.  I should really install shark eye lights as the bow light is slightly impeded by trolling motor from some angles..

Thanks a bunch, I figured it would have to chop the rail. I'm thinking about having a piece of stainless bent so I can slide it over cut portion and put some quick release pins in it to remove as needed.

Check this out:

I opted not for a quick release mount on my TM because that would just make it far easier for someone to steal... I leave my boat in water all season in the northeast and in my yard otherwise.  My 2 cents..
