19.1 REBUILD
« on: January 03, 2021, 02:08:41 PM »
Hello,
Well after much dely, I have finally started to work on my 1970 19.1. We cut the floor and tramsome out and are letting everything dry out. Next I'm going to cut out the the casting deck. The floor had been rebuilt, the original stringers were removed and someone added 2x6 and filled them with foam, going to remove those and reconstruct the original stringers.

This will be interesting to watch. Can you describe the 2x6 filled with foam a little deeper?

Great start!! Thanks for sharing! Assume they had the fuel tank below deck?

Looks like 2x6 stringers... and everything else was filled with foam.

Ahhh, I was thinking too deep - I saw the wood but the "added 2x6 and filled them with foam" was talking about somehow filling the 2x6.....

The 2x6 are glassed to the hull and someone filled the gaps with foam. They only did this from the casting platform back to the tramsome. I'll have more pics when the casting platform is cut out.
