Changing Steering Wheels

As part of my helm project I'll be replacing my steering wheel. The photo of the spoke steering wheel is exactly what I currently have installed. The other 2 steering wheel photos will be the new one. My question is, won't the steering shaft be way too long for this new steering wheel? Is there a bezel spacer that goes in between the mounted bezel and wheel? Kinda perplexed on this one. Thanks!

It would appear that you need a different nut. Something like a large acorn/cap style.
