Aquasport 20' 1985 project boat - $100
« on: May 28, 2020, 10:01:22 AM »
I have a 1985 20' Aquasport that will make a great project for somebody, but, I need it off the trailer.  It is a 20' CC with the transom closed for a bracket, although I would redo the transom with a cutout.  It didn't ride so great with the bracket, although it could have been how the engine was set up.  It is getting the chain saw Friday night if I don't have any takers.  It is on a trailer and I am willing to deliver it from Revere/Lynn to the NH border.  The deck has some soft spots and the transom is solid, but, has some separation in the center of the plywood cores.  Flooding it with epoxy and bolting it up tight MIGHT do the trick.

You could;d probably do a quick patch job and drop and engine on to get her running, but, the boat really needs a full restoration.

Shoot me a PM with your number if you are interested.

$100! What a deal, almost free for you! Now just double the money you think you are going to need to spend and triple the amount of time you think you need to take and it’s all good! Welcome to the club! I actually have enjoyed the time away from fishing and boating to concentrate on the “project” in the garage and learning new skills. You can do it!!

Hi,  yup.  I'm there already.  Sticker shock on Alexseal paint.  Thanks,  when I get going I'll post some pics.  Right now I'm looking for a picture of the 196 without the deck so I can see if I might be able to leave most of the deck in place and remove the perimeter to get to the foam which is wet.  ??? Or, just live with the extra weight and move on with life.  I did a face lift on a 170 in high school and full on restoration of a Cal 40 in my late 20's.  I know what I have coming.  And for some odd reason I did it anyways.
