1984 222 center console floor replacement

OK, here is my story! Several years ago i started the rebuild of a 1984 222 osprey. Put a new transom in and was thinking about doing the floor but my hip went bad and instead of putting a new floor in, i had a new hip put in. It was a painful 9 months, waiting for the surgery, getting the surgery, and recovering. Anyway after the new hip, I didn't have the energy to start the floor and it seemed ok anyway.
I completed the rest of the rebuild by restoring the T-top, adding a new console, adding a combo leaning post with a livewell, all new electronics, top of the line trolling motor, power pole, Perfection paint and a new Yamaha 175. Everything came out pretty well given that it was my first rebuild. Many thanks for all the advice from Classicaquasport.com!
I just spent the month of March at Bokeelia on Pine Island in south Florida. And yes, I had a ton of fun! I was on the boat 28 days out of the month,,, but you guessed it, I'm going to need a new floor. It's not bad yet, but it is clear that at sometime I'm going to need a new floor.
Let me say i completely enjoyed rebuilding the boat. I had wanted to rebuild one for the last 20 years. But I've discovered that i enjoy fishing more than i enjoy rebuilding boats. So I'm looking for advice or directions to a link on the best way to replace the floor. I don't believe epoxy injections will work for my situation, too many soft spots. So, I'm planning on removing the T-top, console and leaning post/livewell, but where do i go from there. Thanks for reading!!

For my project, I cut the whole inner liner out and started from scratch. Since I was doing a total rebuild, that was the best course for me. However in your situation I think you could get by with cutting the floor out and leaving a few inches around the edges so the new floor has something to sit on and tab to. Then you could tab the tops of the stringers 3/4" so the new floor is level/ no weak spots.

Thanks, i just looked at your rebuild. I'll be very interested to see where you go from here. Just so i'm clear, you're suggesting is putting the new floor on top of the rim that was the old floor. So after cutting my floor out, I would use the rim and elevated stringers to support my new floor?! My new floor would be 3/4 of an inch or so higher than my old floor. Is that correct??
If so, i'm wondering can i reuse the molding that provides access to the gas tank. In my previous work on the boat, i replaced the gas tank and reworked the tank cover. They are both in great shape. Thanks!

Correct, use the rim around the old floor as support and raise the existing stringers and bulkheads 3/4 so everything lays flat.
I suppose you could cut out the new floor to accommodate the old tank hatch and add a lip on the undersides to secure it to.

I look forward to seeing how you handle the gas tank in your rebuild. Thanks!

I know this is off topic, but could you tell me the color and brand paint you used? It looks really nice.

Thank you! It's Interlux Perfection in Platinum. I did it myself and given that i'd never used two part paint, it came out very nice. Not perfect, but very nice. I looked at the picture again and realized i still needed to trim some caulk. I just followed the Interlux directions and was careful. This was my first rebuild. And probably my last. But it was fun! And a lot of work.
