Hi all, been probably 10 years last post but back with new project. Had my 19.6 for last 25 years. Use it in sf bay and inshore loved the boat. Been looking for new in that size range but nothing made that’s full cabin width(don’t want a walk around)and has a Cuddy to lock poles and gear and self bailing. Found a 22.2 that’s formerly  io converted to bracket I bought but due to epidemic not going east to pick up for while. Does anyone know if the io transom thickness was same as outboards?

Can’t say for certain about transom thickness for the IOS, but can say that Armstrong recommends at least 2” for up to 200 HP, and I think  2.5” for up to 300.  Hopefully the transom was reenforced when the bracket was added.  Can you get seller to send you a measurement?

Welcome back Fishhead. What I remember seeing when an I/O was torn into was that the same transom was used as in an outboard boat but the "notch" had been filled in and up to the top of the curved top. The I/O was cut into the lower part of the transom.  The top was not structural.

Thanks Rick, what your describing makes sense that is what I see on my 24’ pilothouse that’s how they laid it up. Looking forward to pick it up
