New to this site have a 1970 22.2 cc. I had to remove transom from outer lamanet ( not cool )  the transom had 360 rot and cracks in the Making the outer portion worthless.  I pray it doesnt give me too hard of a time replacing.  Also ripped deck up the wood was wet and destroyed.  My plan is to keep her as factory as possible with the occasional custom touch and upgrade more storage bilge pumps ,   Maybe a livewell.   Time will tell and i hope to meet some good people here to wouldnt mind commenting b/c i dont have any of the right answers esp the moment i talked myself into do this project ,,,,   Thank you all

Installing transom tomorrow ,  i believe im prepped ans ready to go ,  barnaget light fiberglass in NJ recommended pvc board , im told same as coosa half the $ ( still pretty $$$. ). Just want whats best for the boat w/o crushing my bank account too badly.   Im nervous / excited from there ill re-foam all my stringers.  The boat came with 2 20g aluminum tanks that were actually stored and kept pretty clean.  I know that the older aquasports  were rated top 20 best hulls ever build but I notice some guys removing a larg portion of their middle stringer for new poly / aluminum tanks ,,,what does anyone think about that .???? Do I remove part of middle stringer to add these 2 tanks not side by side but in a row ?  Also is it safe to remove all the foam from my stringers at once rather than one at a time for structural means ?   

I had to remove my outer laminate and grind, saw, cut my way to the glass on the inner transom .  I’m adding a piece of melamine to the inside for strength and so I can add my layers of 1708 glass b4 the pvc board and then after the pvc board is installed

If there’s a better way please let me know I hated removing the outside of transom but I’m dealing with it best I can ..   enjoy the rest of the weekend and if you can give me your opinion good or bad and possible alternate ways of adding this transom from the outside -in

Looks like your in Jersey, good luck with your build. I am also. As far as the transom goes don't be scared to use marine plywood, just over drill and fill holes with epoxy. I almost went the PVC board route but decided against it. The weight saving is minimal. Use coosa for your deck.
