75 22-2 Osprey quick paint job
«

Just completed a quick and dirty paint job on my '75 22-2. I saw an article in a back issue of Saltwater Sportsman and decided to give it a try. Without having to get too deep into the boat (and actually get out on the water), I was pleased with the results.
I found some replica Aquasport decals on eBay - I'll put those on once the paint has a few more days to cure.

Came out looking great! What method did you use?

Thanks, Rick...
The quick answer is "4 inch foam roller"
The process was - orbital sand with 60 grit; wipe with mineral spirits; orbital sand with 220; wipe with mineral spirits; fill with Evercoat Formula 27; sand; mineral spirits; roll on Pettit Easypoxy paint with 4" foam roller.
I redid the water line. After some major sanding, I uncovered the original(?) water line which ran much truer to the actual... waterline. Placing this one via photos of the boat sitting in the water was interesting, we'll see how I did in a few days.
I also misquoted the publication I found the article in above - it was
On the Water
, not Saltwater Sportsman.

Back where she belongs...
I didn't get the waterline spot-on, but it's closer to where the original was... and given that I eyeballed it's location in the driveway from a photo on my phone, I'm happy with it.
