2005 250 explorer front hatch

Anyone know what kind of strut is required for the front hatch of my boat. I ordered a new set off Amazon. The damn things don't close. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong?

I replaced these in 09 and they still look and function as new. I also replaced the attachment points. These are a fixed 30 lb. force and hold the hatch up very well and close easily. I'm assuming you are describing the cuddy cabin hatch.
