Injecta deck?
« on: July 23, 2017, 07:45:21 PM »
Hello fellow aquasport owners! Happy to call myself one as of last week.

So heres what i got. I recently bought a 1985 19 6 osprey it's sat for 7 years has a few soft spots in the floor not bad enough to fall through but still squishy. the transom has some wiggle to it, so I won't be putting it in the water anytime soon to run the motor. I'm just too scared. But what I'm trying to figure out is if anyone can tell me what they've experienced using "injecta deck" to strengthen their floors. I've seen the videos and it seems simple to do with some patience I'm just trying to figure out if it would be worth it to give it a shot rather than tear up the whole floor and have it redone.

I've used this method with success to fix a few soft spots in my cockpit. The key is preparation (mask it up, it gets messy) and getting the viscosity just right. My deck's core was still semi intact in the soft areas so it took a bit of fiddling to get the viscosity just right so the epoxy would run through all the voids and semi voids. Some areas took nearly straight epoxy. If you time it right you can clean excess off with a sharp exacto blade. Then I covered the swiss cheesed deck areas with self adhesive deck tread after clean up. It looks good and no more squishy bits.
