2004 215 Osprey Gauges...Help!!

Hi everybody,

My 2004 Aquasport 215 Osprey with a 200 HPDi is giving me issues  with the tachometer gauge not working at all, sometimes it works with a high contrast and when I speed up the boat it goes blank again then it will work at his own will.....can somebody shed some light on this?

Mine was bouncing around intermittently, I turned the little dial on the back the one for 3-4-6 cylinder setup back and forth a few times (to hopefully clean the contacts) and it seems to be ok now.  Not sure how long it will last but it has been a few uses since and its still good.

Yes Capt, Yamaha 2004 Digital Round Gauges hooked to a HPDI 200.

Is there any method to test it, like with a voltmeter?

OK,
Before I would spend any money on anything, I would review the linked wiring diagram and see if it is similar to what you find under the helm. That stated, there are several connections that could possibly be compromised by corrosion affecting the gauge operation. I state this because of the intermittent failure you are experiencing. I'm not the expert but my experience has been that many, many, many electrical gremlins on a boat are due to a failed connection, often a ground. If you have already explored this route then I can't offer any additional help.
