1990 Aquasport 222 CCP caught fire!!!
« on: October 12, 2016, 09:32:08 PM »
About 5 weeks ago while hooking up a battery charger in a friend of mines boat, I must have made a spark which apparently ignited fuel vapors. All I heard was a whoosh!!! The entire deck and my legs were on fire. Unfortunately my Aquasport was parked rite next to it in the driveway. By the time the fire dept. came to put out the fire it had spread to my boat. So I will be selling some usable parts off it. If anyone wants or needs anything PM me. The boat is a 1990 so there is no coffin box, it had a large fish box under the deck instead. The t top is good minus the canvas, and the electronics box. The leaning post is good minus the pad. The fuel tank is less than 1 year old. I had it made by Alloy Metal Works in NY. It cost me $1100. It is 95gal. Thankfully the engine is still good as well. I will be keeping that to put on my new boat. When I eventually find one. The deck covers are good, as is the wave door. That is about it.

Sorry to hear about this happening to you - wow.  Were you able to extinguish the fire on you quickly? Are you ok now?

Does it have the teak door and frame that covers the forward anchor storage?

I am fine now. Yes it does have the teak door that covers the anchor space in the front. It was not damaged in the fire.

I have some dimentions at work.  I'm not sure that yours has the same size as the older models.  I will check and post the size tomorrow.  How much do you want fore the door and frame?

Sorry about the delay. I forgot that I was in a fishing tournament yesterday.  Strangely enough, our guide was running a rebuilt '79-222 Aquasport with a 200 Honda.  We won the overall tournament slam with a combined total of 82 inches for our trout, snook, and red.  Not bad for a day with 20 MPH winds. Sorry, I got side tracked.  The cutout for the front compartment is 14 1/4" wide and 21 1/8" High.  If your door and frame are wider than that cut-out, it should work. Thanks for checking.

I can't believe it.  I almost forgot that I am also missing the two doors and frame for the back of the console.  Did they survive?

Sorry the frame and doors did not survive. I will check the measurements on the frame and let you know.

Thanks Adam, It would be really great to get the anchor storage door and frame.  Let me know when you get a chance to check those measurements so we can work out the details.  Thanks, Keith

Hey Adam,

Looks like that's it. Give me a call at 813-310-5419, and we can wrap this up. It will be easier than all of this back and forth on the site. Keith
