Switching from shurflo to rule pump system
« on: June 25, 2016, 08:20:00 AM »
In my infinite quest for the perfect boat, I'd like to find out about using a rule cartridge style live well pump instead of the original shurflo pump. The boat is a 2004 osprey 200 and has the original shurflo in the center console. It is just so noisy and vibrates while running the live well. I was thinking of using it As a separate wash down pump. Maybe planning on getting the rule pump with a Has anyone installed the rule style pump on the original seacock in this boat?

Operation complete..... Pretty straightforward and easy. Should be much better now!

I have a '98 Osprey 200 and just replaced the Shureflo under the console, which is heavy, bulky and also vibrates. How do you like the Rule conversion? Do you still use the Shureflo for washdown?

My issue with the under-seat baitwell built into the front of the helm console is that it splashes water over the top and onto the deck when the boat rolls a bit. I keep cutting down the height of the standpipe draining it but worry that is reducing depth/capacity overall. Thoughts?
