Hey everybody I am in the process of acquiring a 1979 19'6 FF and stumbled on this Website, which is great by the way. my question is does anyone care to share some info on this particular model bad good or the ugly, I want to get a better feel from people that actually own this model and what I am getting myself into. Thanks in advance also share some pictures of what you have so I can get some ideas on restoration ideas.

I feel like I may be wasting my time because nobody has replied but I will try again, does anyone know or seen any of this type of seating available to buy or what have you done inside of your FF to restore seating. I would like back to back seating on both sides of the boat and I am looking for ideas.

Thank you for the info, do you know why I may not be able to see most of the pictures that are on this website? Most of the posts with picstures have small black X's where the pictures should be.

Also could you tell me what they mean by a self bailing Hull, there is no bilge pump that I can locate and it just scares me a bit to not have a way to get rid of water in the event of taking water on. I see a scupper on the transom and is that the only way that the water will leave the Hull? Also the access hole on each side the transom tub are very shallow I dont think I can get a bilge down there.

A self bailing "hull" means that the deck is sealed and water should not enter below deck level. The early 170s and I would think several other models came that way. There was no bilge pump below deck. Water traversed the deck surface and exited through the scuppers in the transom. I'm not sure but it sounds this is the style hull you have. There's a garboard drain that empties the bilge of the water that finds its way below decks.
Post a photo or two so we can see what's going on.
Not sure why you cannot see the pics in the post unless they are ones that have been moved by the poster. There are a good deal of older threads that are this way. The links I posted should have pics visible to you. I use a PC and a Droid with no problems. Rick will be along to get you right.
Visit these links and tell me if this is what you are experiencing.

MB I see the same as you do on those 3 links - first two the member deleted his gallery, so no pics left.
The 3rd everything looks fine. I see all the pics in the bunch of links CB posted first.
I don't know which threads you are seeing Xs in. One thing you might want to do is reset your browser back to factory to clear out everything. Google how to do it.
Self Bailing is just what Capt Bob explained. My '71 170 was just that, the top was sealed from the bilge and there were 2 1" scuppers in the well right below the engine.
As motors got bigger
starting in the 70s and the clamp standard changed the boats were weighed down in the aft putting the scuppers under water - no more self bailing.
The garboard is the plug at the bottom of the "v" in the aft, to drain the bilge.
As for the seats, I think if you want the exact same type of seats you may have to make them yourself unless you stumble onto some at a surplus place from a different brand boat. Making them would not be hard and there are a couple examples of people making their own here.

As Rick stated, you seem to be working fine. As you browse through the Forum you will encounter two things that may give you pause. You've already experienced the deleted photo phenomena. Not much can be done about that.
Second is the broken link. There still exist a lot of links that direct you back to the original Forum site. Since we switched to the new server and format, many have been repaired. When I run across one while searching a topic, I repair it. Still, if you find one we appreciate letting us know so that it can be repaired . This in turn helps everyone to access the information they need.
Now you need to start posting pics of your own in your posts. As with any cat, there are multiple ways of skinning. The Forum's Gallery is one and works very well once mastered. It ain't hard. Still, you can use what you feel comfortable with but whatever you choose, posting a photo along with your questions is a big help in getting the answers you seek.

Seems we have had several threads concerning the FF models lately so you have found us at a good time.
Good luck.

OK so when I try to post pictures to this thread and when I try to put them in my gallery it takes a few moments and says that they are uploading but then the screen updates and nothing is saved and I have to begin the process again. I have tried this 4 times and each time I get the same result. has anyone else had these problems.
