I missed the question on laying a couple coats of cloth over the floor - if you're thinking of redoing the floor at a later time I would wait.
As for spraying, light coats are best.  Sounds like either you laid on too much or got too close.  Been there for sure.  Only way out is sanding.  What are you spraying by the way?  Some paint is repairable.
Now where is our painting pro that was giving advice a little bit ago?

Ya I've moved beyond the floor. I can live with it. I think I just laid it on too thick. I'm using Pettit Easypoxy.... I've had very great results with it in the past rolling and tipping, but since there are so many nooks and crannies here I thought I'd give spraying a go. I really would rather not wait weeks untll the sags fully cure so I'm looking for a better way out lol.  I've heard of cutting off the sags with a razor blade, but that sounds extremely tedious.  I'm not looking for a perfect professional paint job here, but I know I can do better than this.

Console is almost done!! Last gloss coat going on the boat this week then it's time for the kiwigrip and then wiring. Any advice on securing the coffin cover? I see most guys use 4200 so that's my plan but how many screws do I use? I don't wanna go crazy with screws and have them in the way when walking around.

I am presently rebuilding a 23' sailboat. Realized late last Fall there was a bit of soaked balsa core so am dealing with that now.
When finished I would like to paint the deck and use Kiwi on the nonskid. Much of the deck is textured so I assume that will have to be sanded and primed first. How was the Kiwi to work with?
You mentioned how bright your painted portion is. If that is a problem there are flattening agents that can be added to the paint.

Thanks for the advice Bruce!  As for the Kiwigrip, it was great to work with. It is water based so it is very forgiving. The key is to spread it out as evenly as possible with a large brush or an 1/8" notched trowel. You can alter the height of the peaks with the roller cover. Once you get the hang of it it is pretty easy. With your existing non skid all you need to do is go at it with some 80 grit to knock down the existing peaks. You don't have to sand it down completely smooth. Then you do all of your masking, sand carefully up to ur tape edges (or re-tape). Wipe the surface down with soap and water and make sure it is completely dry prior to kiwigripping. Obviously stay away from thinners, acetone, etc. or the kiwigrip won't adhere properly.

It's finally startng to come together!! Kiwigrip is done, rod holders installed, console almost completely wired up, etc... I'm trying really hard to keep the wiring organized but not with much luck. It looks like a mess in the pic but it's about as organized as I can manage lol. Any wiring pros have any advice??

She splashed today!!! Everything went well with exception of the scuppers. The 88 SPL is really heavy so water flows in and out of the trough at the transom even at anchor. I plan on installing some type of one way valve I just need decide which type will work the best for me. I also would like to get a link and sync on the evinrude. She runs well and really moves the boat but the idle sync could definitely be better. Any tips from evinrude guys out there will not be turned away.  Thank you all so much for the help along the way!!!
