Thanks man!! No that is the original green with the white insert. Just looks black on the bottom side in the picture. Literally every finger on my left hand and my thumb on my right hand had huge blisters after getting that insert back in!! It was a pain for sure haha

    So I moved past this situation to get the boat launched because it seemed ridiculous that I couldnt figure it out. I had to leave 1 screw out of each strap hinge for my casting deck compartments.  Reason being they hit the raised edge of the molded compartments when closed!  The only reason I can find is that I installed them in the wrong locations but I am pretty sure they are in the factory locations.  Anyone ever have this issue or know what I am talking about?

Is there a lot of slop in the hinges?

What I'm thinking is the hinge "joint" sits in between the hatch and the supporting deck.  If there is a lot of slop then that allows the hatch to fall deeper and lay on top of the high part/lip of the compartment.

O ok I see what you mean.  The issue is when the lids are closed the bolts hit almost dead center on the lip. So a little bit of slop it's not the cause.  That is why this is so strange to me because I don't understand how they did not hit before but they do now.  I'll try to snap some pictures but the boat is all winterized and tarped up for the winter.  I might get a jumpstart on the fuel tank installation though so I can take some pictures then I suppose.

 Thought I'd post on some upgrades I made to the console while I had it out of the boat to install the fuel tank.  Installed the tachometer, Simrad chart plotter, and four much-needed grab rails.  You can also see the cushions that I put on during the season last year which I'm very happy with.  Also got the N2K  backbone installed.  Fuel tank will be connected to the chart plotter through the lowrance fluid level sensor.  Never got a response  on my post about the tachometer situation, but I honestly didn't expect to because it was a very specific question about my specific setup.  I'll just have to wait and find out on the first test run.
