gunnel cap filler/repair

Hey all,
   
       I've been plugging away at screw holes etc. on the gunnel caps and console of my 170.  For all the screw holes I have countersinking all the holes and filling them with a epoxy / cabosil mixture. (which I deeply regret due to it making sanding an epic pain in the A.)    I have 2 spots of damage on the outside edges that im not sure how to address.  My idea is not use a small piece of plywood with wax paper as a form, putty knife out some filler leaving it a little strong, then sand it down creating a nice new sharp edge.  Any recommendations for a repair of this nature??

use micro balloons or wood flour something like that to thicken things you will have to sand.  It will work much easier than cabosil.  Cabosil can be brittle when used as a thickener by itself.  Milled fibers will add more tensile strength and should sand easier too.

Even some cardboard from a file folder and wax paper can be used as a dam for a form.

Ya i plan on using some micros next time or just a premade filler.  Maybe the interlux surfacing puddy. I just need to figure out the best way to do the repairs on the edges.

I typically include some fiber if I build up an edge.  Micro fiber as suggested is good.  I have also just glassed a thin strip or two of 1.5 oz mat (depending on how much it needs to be built up) on the corner, and then sanded that to the proper shape.  I feel that the fibers will help keep the edge from chipping if it gets hit by something.

Ya I think I'll use some 1/32" miled fibers I have for strength and thicken with something else. If it's thick enough I shouldn't really need a form.
