Looks Sweet Michael. I installed switchable white and red for under lights so I didn't lose night vision.

I had to take a shifter part over to Portside Marine today.  The motor is on.  I'm hopeful that I'll be able to water test it and pick it up tomorrow.  Knock on wood.  The three blade Solas prop is just for testing.  My plan is to go with a Rev 4, probably 17" pitch, but testing will help determine where I'll end up.

Here are some photos from before I dropped it off for the motor.  Pre Dorian, it seems like ages ago.  The access doors and lockers are in.  There's a small tackle center in the transom and a fire extinguisher/safety gear locker in the starboard side of the leaning post.

Thanks for the prompt.  Yeah, I water tested and picked her up last Tuesday.  With a 17" Quicksilver 4 (same as Rev 4) she topped out at 40 just kissing 5300 RPM.  That was with two people and 40 gallons of fuel.  Cruise was where I expected it to be.  At 3500 RPM she was at mph 23 mph.  There was slight porpoising at WOT, but the tabs knocked that out.

I think I'll get a bit more out of her by raising the motor a hole or two.  With the high winds and hurricane swell, work stuff too, I haven't had another chance to run it, but plan on taking her out tomorrow.  Then I'll make the call on raising the motor.

Here's a link to a video looking down at the ventilation plate at cruise.  Looks low to me, but I would love opinions.  https://youtu.be/-WgHnDrAuU0

Excellent work Michael. :salut:

I'm guessin' you'll get the response that the motor can be raised which should give you more top end. I'm in the same boat with just one hole left to raise. Just haven't got to it yet.

Again, looking great.

Good luck. :thumright:

I took the girl to sea yesterday.  Conditions were great with a 2 foot swell and some wind chop.  She was quite comfortable in the mild conditions, but I wan't comfortable running WOT out there.  I'm still breaking the motor in, so I went back into the river and opened her up.  I'm impressed with the motor.  I still need to tinker with motor height and a couple of other things, but performance is right in line with my expectations.  Honestly, for offshore use, I don't see any need for more power on this hull.

Here's where she stacks out performance wise.  Speeds were measured in knots, and rounded to the nearest whole number for MPH.

RPM    Knots   MPH
3000    18           21
3500    22           26
4000    27           31
4500    33           38
5300    37           43

The scuppers were high and dry.  Even with my substantial weight on the platform, no water was on deck.  That's with the sole raised 1" from stock, and scuppers exiting the transom.

She's sitting perfect.  The numbers look good. Is that a Merc 150?

Sorry Rick.  I missed your question.  Yes, It's a Merc 150 Four Stroke.

Just a small update:  I had the motor raised 1 hole.  I don't see a way to take it up anymore without loosing the double bolts at the top.  Weather permitting, I''ll take it out for a test run next Tuesday.  Hopefully, I'll gain a bit more WOT RPM and top speed, plus reduce steering torque.

I made a modification of my fire extinguisher cabinet.  And it came from Boat Outfitters it was 1/2" too shallow to accommodate my EPIRB.  I wanted out of the way, yet easy access for safety gear.  I added 1/2 Starboard spacers to gain the depth.  That left room for one of the plastic TH rod holders through the back to store one of the Weems & Plath rescue lights.  It's in the starboard side of my leaning post barely a step from the helm.
