New bow cushion
« on: April 08, 2016, 03:03:26 PM »
I'm having a bow cushion made for me 17.6 Osprey, and I'm looking for some ideas and comments. In the bow there's the storage area with a hatch that will be under half the cushion. So my choices are:

Two cushions that are "hinged", so it will look like 1 large cushion, but will still allow easy access to the storage area under the cushion
or
Two totally separate pieces. I suppose the advantage of this setup is, it will be easier to store two smaller cushions in the off season.

I'm open to your thoughts!

You have a different front deck than the 175 of older era - yours has only one hatch

the older models (80s and prior) usually had 3 hatches running with the hull front to back (my 71 had 1 too)

So my opinion on yours is to put in a hinged cushion with snaps on the front edge of the lid, so when you want to open the lid you can. Storing should be easy since it should hinge in half.
