duplicate gauges?
« on: April 06, 2016, 03:03:04 PM »
not sure if it is possible, I have a 99 Yamaha 150 and a single Yamaha Tach multi-function gauge (I think it is considered the Series 1 as it does not have the buttons on it).  I would like to add the same gauge to the upper station on my tower.

question: is there an adaptor or connector piece where I can splice together the wiring harnesses so both gauges read accurately (in a plug and go fashion) or can I simply cut/splice into the current lower station wiring harness going into the gauge and connect to the upper station gauge?

This may be helpful.

Seems you're on the right track as to splicing into the harness.

Just need to see if one is available from Yamaha or if it's a DIY.
Either way, it seems doable.

Good luck. :thumright:

Chris, I believe I have a Yamaha gauge you are welcome to have. It appears your phone number is no longer in my contacts. Let me know if you want it and I'll mail it to you free of charge.

Postman said it will be there Monday. Cold ones on you when you roll into town.
