Wood free
« on: February 29, 2016, 03:01:14 PM »
I've owned and sold quite a few Aquasports over the years. Now I'm thinking about getting one again. In particular a 1995 or newer 225 Osprey.

What I am trying to remember is how wood free are the boats. Is the transom wood? How about the stringers? Any information on what to look out for would be appreciated.

Hi D,
Depending on the year the transom may or may not be wood. Somewhere around 95 they started the switch to poured.
The decking is going to be end grain balsa sandwiched between glass.  The casting deck is the same.  The stringers were always glass only.  You may find the underside of the front of the cap cored with wood too.
