Thanks everyone, only thing I'm worried about is the bulkheads for upfront. There are going to be 2 full size bulkheads like in Dirtwheels mullet build but mine are 3/4 divinycell with two layers of 1708 on each side. You guys think they will support a front deck/console etc or should I pick up something else?

Moving along slowly!

Laid in a ramp for any water that tried to get into the bow. Made from 3/4 divinycell with 2 layers of 1708

Got the 2 front bulkheads epoxied in place. Will make a fish hold/cooler out of the main pit. It will be cores with 4mil core mat. The coosa isn't glued in, just testing a way to make two separate compartments.

Also cut In the deck and epoxied it together. It will get 2 layers of 1708 on both sides.

Drain has also been cut , I'll get more pics up here soon.

I wish I could find a 19-6 in Sweden. For all I know, I might have the only Aquasport 170 in Sweden.

It will be fun to follow your restoration.

Newest progress!

Incase any of you didn't catch it in previous posts, this happened -_-

So I proceeded to handle chisel the entire piece off with a 2 in chisel!! 😫

This is after all the chiseling and building up the outside where the old skin was. Also filled in any marks where the chisel hit the new skin.

You can also see the start of the rear deck, trying to find the shape I want. Will be made from 3/4 divinycell. The front of it will be made from 1/2 Penske for hatches / anything else.

Also added cap supports and drilled them for the wire run ( 2 1/2 ) schedule 40

Also removed all the rotted Balsa from the cap then ground it clean and recorded it.

So far that's where I'm at, have some other stuff being glued together to install. Also picked up all the fuel lines and hoses for the tank. Tank supports being built and should be glassed in tomorrow.
Have both main and front deck made just need to be glassed.

Beautiful work and you're zoomin' right along :thumleft:

I'm a little confused on the transom - I thought you cut the transom out totally and built new.  Where'd the layer you chiseled off come from?

I had the same question, but after looking closely, I think the stuff he chiseled off was the melamine form.

Looking good!  What did you core the cap with?

Thanks Rick, sorry for the confusion but it was the melamine that was stuck somehow.

The darker material is 1/2 Penske and the other is 1/2 h80.

Haha it's looking ok I take it? I haven't even started messing with them yet. Mold making is so foreign to me.

Cut some blocks out of 2in H80 and carved them up on the router a bit. Glued them and glasses them in so hopefully the tank can go in tomorrow or Friday.

Also picked up an engine hoist today :)
