Aquasport 225 Explorer Spray Rails
« on: October 05, 2015, 11:49:02 PM »
Has anyone added any sort of spray rails to their rig to help deflect the water for a little bit dryer ride?

In general it's not bad, and in the summer a little spray is nice, but curious if anyone has added any type of spray rail and what kind of they did

Regards

While spray rails have come up from time to time, I don't recall any EX owners installing them. They have been talked about and even tried on a couple of the flatties and 12 degree Ospreys but like all Aquas, the shape/direction of the chine is such that all Aquas tend to be wet in the right situations. Trim angle, speed and a little luck on course direction have worked in the past to reduce wetness but.......

Still, with an EX you can have an enclosure made that will work better than any spray rail under any condition. Expensive, space and time consuming, it's not for everyone but I know I'd like one on mine (really like a pilot house). Just never ponied up the coin for same.

Maybe someone has installed them and will chime in. We have several newer members with EXs so......

Good luck :thumright:

I have full enclosure/side curtains that I just took off, really nice in cool weather or rain, but an oven in the summer
