Can I use any 1/2 in tapered NPT brass plug for my Garboard drain setup? I'm heading out in the morning early and the Marine supply store won't be open. Wondering if I could pick one up at hardware store

You probably have already got the plug but yes a NPT (tapered) will work.
We are talking the rear transom drain plug correct?
