Right angle barb fuel tank
« on: August 13, 2015, 11:42:15 AM »
New fuel tank fill connection  faces forward. I need to run the fill hose aft toward the fill on the gunnel.  Any ideas on running a right angle directly off the tank so i can get it back there without making a giant loop?

:PicsNeeded:    That puts the tank in the same situation but facing aft.

I was thinking it would put the fill neck facing the rear, more in line with direction you want to go. We are talking about 1 1/2" filler neck correct? I guess it all depends where the fill hose has to go from there. What boat is this?

84 200xf.  replacing the 72 gal tank with a 40 aluminum.  The tank hook up will be facing perpendicular to the fill on the gunnel.  Instead of making a giant loop which may not be possible, I may have to make a right angle some how

Ok now I see the problem. Take it to welding shop and have them cut the neck and weld it in the position you need.

Sealing inside new tank
« Reply #8 on: August 15, 2015, 09:55:58 AM »
Admin Edit:  I merged the two topics since they are about the same topic.

Getting my fill repositioned on my tank by an experienced welder. He's recommended sealing the inside of the tank.  Showed me the stuff. Red poly looking material.  He claimed it will outlast the aluminum tank.
