Fishbox Macerator Pump. Help!!!!!
« on: August 02, 2015, 11:14:10 AM »
I live in Narragansett, RI and I have a huge problem with my 1998 Wellcraft 24CCF. The Wellcraft forum not helpful. I know wellcraft and aquasports were once manufactured in the same faciliity and share some similarities. I can.t find the macerator pump that services the in deck fishbox, stern. I tried tracing wires and tubes and they all lead to a dark place under the deck going this way and that. Is it possible that the pump is under the box? My raw water pump is easily accessible and so is my freshwater pump. They are attached to the studs and suspended above the bilge inside the stern area behind the access door. I did, however, locate the discharge hose that comes out of a tunnel just below the fishbox in the darkest depths of the bilge but unable to follow it. Does anybody know where this pump could be? I saw a picture of a fishbox in the aquasport with the pieplate access hole.  I like that idea but before I take that step, I.ll feel really comfortable if I just know where that pump is before I start cutting and relocating the pump.

Ray,
I'm not at all familiar with your model Wellcraft but assuming it is somewhat similar to the Aqua Osprey, finding and accessing the pump is indeed very hard. Since you have seen the "pie plate access" thread, it should give you an idea where it's hidden. According to a former employee, these pumps were a one shot deal when installed with little or no thought on replacement. You might try removing one (or both of the batteries) and see if you can reach, wiggle, crawl into the small opening. Again, it's just a guess but based on what other members have found when looking for this same pump.

Good luck.
