Just got a call from the Oak Island folks - the Caswell Beach Road (the road to the beach house) is closed with 3' of water over the pavement at the south end. They are expecting 2"-5" of rain today and more tomorrow. This will result in a total of about 20" of rain!

Scott and I have talked it over, and there is no need to go out and try to fish this weekend - there will be so much fresh water and sediment in the water that we probably won't even find bait. So we are making the call now to cancel/postpone this year's Octoberfest/Reunion...
Hate to do it, but we don't know what conditions are going to be by the end of the week, and it just makes sense to cancel now rather than wait until the last minute.
Maybe we do something later in the year, but the event this weekend is officially cancelled!
