tightening tow eye

today i noticed that my tow eye on my 22-2 osprey is loose/ starting to pull on the lower part. how would i go about tightening for the back plate? do i cut out the anchor box to access it and tighten it then glass it back in place?

I'm not sure exactly how yours is configured, but I would cut a hole for access and install a pie plate for future access.  Much easier than repairing the fiberglass.

Ditto what Craig said
You can cut an access hole in the front of one of the storage boxes in the front casting deck and maybe one in the bottom of the anchor locker if you have one, so you have two hands working the problem.
