It's not in my manual; where can I learn the baitwell capacity on the 1999 200 Osprey?

19 gallons +/-.

You can also measure the interior L x W x H (in inches) and multiply the product by.0043.

No ruler, no calculator, no problem...

Stop off at the store on the way home for a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk. Make a few sandwiches and drink the milk. Now you're full and you have a measuring device. Fill it and pour into the well (19 or so times).
You'll work off the sandwiches and milk and have a known capacity of your well. :think1:

Good luck :thumright:

Very educational, entertaining reply!

And I've never seen that manual/catalog/photo(s) of my boat. Any chance of getting you to scan and email me a copy of that page with the specs sometime?

Thanks once again....

Dan,
That was taken from Rick's 1998 catalog scan and is currently loaded in the Photo Gallery under "catalogs".

I saved it to my office computer and emailed to you but it doesn't seem very clear. Rick may be able to get you a sharper (hi res) scan.

Bob,

Per reply #7 in the thread, what is the round thing at the top of the Rule 1500 pump in the photo your provided, a float switch of some kind?

It's a substitute for a float switch.
Although I don't know entirely what is contained in there, the methodology of the pump is this.

When switched to auto, the pump energizes for a moment every 2.5 minutes. If it senses resistance, it continues to run until it no longer senses the resistance (think liquid, aka water). This cycling off and on is bothersome to many boat owners based on power drain but I haven't experienced that. While I leave it in auto while on the water, it isn't on for weeks at a time so... I'm not sure how well it would work say on a boat moored and left unattended for weeks/months at a time with no battery charging capabilities. Noise is not a concern.

It came with the boat when I bought it and it continues to perform as advertised. A computer chip of some sort and sensors must be housed up top and it isn't a guess that it has more working parts than a simple float switch. I don't know that I would have bought one new but I like it well enough (I had it 5 years now and I don't know how old it really is) that if I could justify the price at the time of replacement, I'd buy another. Not sure if it comes in a bigger (2000GPH) capacity.

EDIT: They do make a 2000GPH.
