I cheated.  I didn't buy the magazine but I read the article standing in a newsstand at the Atlanta airport yesterday.  Nice to know someone recognizes us.

I had looked around the end of October for the magazine and could not find it anywhere.  I was in Wal-Mart last week and found the 50th anniversary of Boating Magazine and there it was, the 22-2 Aquasport as a cult boat.

The article was very brief but informative.  I liked to hear that the hull was "virtually indestructible" and aside from some rotting from water getting in, they say some good things about the 22-2.  I also like how they mentioned that a 150hp 2-stroker was the perfect motor for the boat and an opinion that I can fully agree with.  Either alone or with a crew of 4-6, the 150hp has no problem getting the 222 I've got up and on her way and I find that the load has no effect on the rpm or mpg at cruise which is 4000 and 28-31mph depending on seas and wind and current.

I did get a copy just to have.

Indeed it is (or was)

Found it in whole on Google and trust the link works for everyone. Story starts on page #72 (as shown on the actual page at bottom) but the whole mag is great for looking at the different ads and such from that time. :ScrChin:

Overall a miniscule percent about the Aqua but still, a piece of history. Take note of the 80s beginning section {nothing succeeds like excess] with the WA and the "crew". Hull model looks familiar.  :think1:

Here's the Aqua tie into this thread. The link is a much better view plus you get the whole enchilada.

Enjoy
