Boating Magazine needs picture
« on: August 08, 2006, 05:42:34 PM »
FYI......

Copy of 8/8 email to me:

HELP! i've been trying to find a photo of an old 222 for an article that i wrote for Boating Magazine. sent an e-mail to mperk this morning but haven't heard back. we are going to press wednesday afternoon and i don't have a photo of a 222 which means there is a big hole in the article. we are looking for an original without the tower added. under way is preferred, but at this point we'll take anything.

do you have any photos that we can use? please either call me on long island 631.298.0164 or send me an e-mail at joef@vdot.net. the shot will have to be hi-res, if you know how to do that.

if this isn't for you, can you get me to someone who might be able to help?

anything you can do will be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance.

joe friedman

I chatted with him briefly this afternoon and he said he needs a hi-resolution photo for the magazine which precludes, apparently, using one from our Gallery.   Article is about "Classic" boats... Donzi 16, Mako, etc.

Wander outside with your camera and take a shot of your pre-Genmar 222 and send it along to him if you can.

GET A PROFESSIONAL PHOTO OF YOUR 222 - TODAY!!
« Reply #2 on: August 09, 2006, 02:20:16 PM »
Still trying to find the 'right' shot of a 222 for my Boating Magazine article. So, the magazine has agreed to have a professional photographer go out and shoot your 60's vintage 222 - no towers, please. We get to use the shot in the magazine, you get to get the shot and a couple of additional outtakes for your own personal use - FREE!

I must hear from someone today, Wednesday, August 9th so that we can make arrangements. We can get a photographer to you, so don't think you're too far away.

Call me desperate, but call me at 631.298.0164 or e-mail to joef@vdot.net.

not to worryjavascript:emoticon(':D'). towers are great - they make for better fishing. but, for our article, we are trying to show the boat as close to the original as possible and in the 60's,  unless i'm mistaken, towers weren't an option. if we do an article on 'what you can do with an older boat to make it even better' we'll be in touch. in the meantime, thanks.

Boating Magazine and Lightwave Photography(www.lwphotogallery.com) emailed me this photo of my Aquasport.  Joe from the magazine said that they are going to use this picture in the October issue for the article about Classic Aquasports.  Several members asked me to post the pictures after the shoot.  If I get anymore I will post them.  Winston from Lightwave Photography was great I hope that I can fish with him in the future.  Check out other boating pictures on his website above.
