01 Osprey 250 Drain Plug

Ok, whacky question.  My new to me boat, how do I get to the drain plug to pull it?  The marina has it pulled out, but I don't know how they did it and I don't know where it goes to put it back!

I'm not trying to be a wise guy here...The drain plug is located in the lowest part of the V in the transom. Most of the larger boats like yours have the screw in brass plug that screws in from the outside and is tightened with a 9/16 wrench. Same thing if it is the standard 7/8 rubber/brass plug that also screws in from the outside.

I didn't take it as wise guy, that wa Avery helpful 'cause for the life of me I couldn't find how to reach it from the inside!  I suspected it was an external plug, but never had a boat, ProLine, Mako, that had external plugs.  That's a relief. I'll put it in from the outside. Thanks!

All good info, thanks.  If I could just get on this thing and start to figure things out.  It's still sitting in the rack in the boatel and tough to get to.  Ah well, part of the fun I guess! Thanks for all the help, I'm sure it won't be the last dopy question.   :-)

Due to the step in the hull and the Euro transom that plug is impossible to reach from inside the boat.  Plus it is a standard pipe thread so the threads are tapered... so the plug has to be installed from the outside.  do yourself a favor and go buy like four extra plugs... place them in several spots in your boat where you know you will see them when you launch the boat.  This serves as a good memory booster to remember to put in the plug... and give you some spares in case you forget to put it it in....  let me tell you that plug is hard to reach when the boat is in the water....  DON'T ask how I know this! :)

I have one on board tucked away just in case but my mind jogger is on the truck console with a wrench. Can't miss it but I did use it once!

So is it a 1/2" plug or 3/4"?  My boat is in a rack a couple of hours away and I won't be able to pick it up for a few weeks. I want to make sure I have a couple of plugs with me!

They are called "Garboard drain plugs" if you want to google for them.  Here is an example:
